On Tuesday, January 9th, 2019, Burco University Faculty of ICT was at Amoud University for a visit. The Students, who came in the company of their Dean. Mr. Aidorous and their Senior lecturers including Mr. Abdiaziz, who is also a former student of Amoud University (Au) Faculty of Computing and Informatics, were hosted by their counterparts at the Faculty of Computing and Informatics, Amoud. The team was received by Au officials and students at the main campus graduation hall, Amoud University in Borama. Present to receive the visiting team were Dr. Mohamed M. Jibril, Vice president for Academic Affairs, Abdismad E. Habaneh, Dean Office of Students Affairs and Counselling Services (OSACS), Edwin O. Okech, Dean, Faculty of Computing and Informatics, Ahmed A. Sh. Ibrahim, Associate Dean, Faculty of Computing and Informatics, Khalid A. Hussein, Associate Dean, Faculty of Computing and Informatics, Warsame A. Sh. Abdi, Senior lecturer, Faculty of Computing and Informatics, AU, Ilhan Muse Nour, Senior lecturer, Faculty of Computing and Informatics, Samakab B. Ahmed, Senior Lecturer and Assistant Web Master, AUCHS website, alongside Mustafe Said, Senior lecturer Faculty of Computing and Informatics and Deputy Director, Human Resource Department, Amoud University.

The Students from Amoud University present during the day included those from Senior Class A and B Bachelor of Business Information Technology (BBIT) programme and those from Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) Senior Class A, B and C. The sisterly relationship between the two academic units of Burco University and Amoud University started way back several years ago, was initiated by a visit by Amoud University students to Burco University. Since then, many other times, the two student bodies have shared several meets but this was the first time for Burco University students to officially come to Amoud University for a visit. The two student leaders of both Faculties, Mahad from Burco University and Abdiaziz from Amoud University expressed their excitement at the successful event and appreciated the ties that bind the two institutions and promised on behalf of their colleagues even closer ties in the future to be enhanced through more visits and other forms of engagement in non-academic ventures. The two Deans of Faculties, Mr. Edwin from Amoud University and Mr. Aidorous from Burco University also praised the relationship and indicated their willingness and intention to strengthen these ties with even more engagements on both academic fronts and non academic joint ventures which would be mutually beneficial to the two institutions at large.

On Tuesday, December 18th, 2018, Amoud University Faculty of Computing and Informatics set out on a 3 day road trip for extra curricular activities. The mission was to visit Hargeisa town, Berbera town and Burcao town with selected corporate institutions and sister universities in mind such as Berbera Ports Authority, Burcao University, University of Hargeisa and Egal International Airport. The number of students who went for the visit were 71 in total, drawn from Senior Academic Year Bachelor of Business Information Technology and Bachelor of Information Technology. The administrative team comprised of Abdisamad E. Habaneh Dean, OSACS-Office of Students Affairs and Counselling Services alongside Edwin O. Okech, the Dean, Faculty of Computing and Informatics, and Warsame Abokor Sh. Abdi a senior member of the teaching staff at the faculty. On first day, the journey took the students and accompanying members of staff through Borama.

On Wednesday, December 19th, 2018, Amoud University Faculty of Computing and Informatics proceeded with the 3 day road trip. On second day, the journey took the students and accompanying members of staff to Buraco Town and in specific Burcao University where they were received by their counterparts at University of Burcao. The Dean, faculty of IT at University of Burcao, Mr. Aidorous, together with his team, welcomed the delegation into the Computer lab where they had a few minutes presentations and further proceeded for photo sessions in the university compounds.

On Thursday, December 20th, 2018, Amoud University Faculty of Computing and Informatics proceeded with the 3 day road trip. On day 3, the journey took the students and accompanying members of staff to Hargeisa City and in specific University of Hargeisa and Egal International Airport. At Egal Airport the delegation was received by Ahmed Abdillahi, Jama Salad Ali and Abdisalam who are all former students of the Faculty of Computing and Informatics working at the airport. A section of the students were then taken through all the different areas of the airport in order to see and briefly experience the life of the staff working at the airport. In the end, the students were finally received by Mustafe Elabe, Dean Faculty of ICT at University of Hargeisa.

The Faculty of Engineering on Monday, December 31st, 2018 welcomed the new dean who was only recently appointed at the start of academic year 2018/2019.
