Amoud Dental School & Oral Health was established in the academic year 2008-2009 with the aim to produce dental surgeons optimally prepared to take part in the rapidly changing health care environment of our country.

The BSc. Medical laboratory science is a professional course which is intended to equip the trainees with knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable them to work as medical laboratory technologists.

School of  Medicine is one of the schools of Amoud University. It is situated in Borama District, Awdal Region. It was established on Academic year 2000-2001.

The purpose of the Baccalaureate in Nursing Program at Amoud University is to provide quality nursing education which prepares graduate students for professional nursing practice.

The Faculty is situated 5 kilometers East of Borama town. It composes of departments covering all aspects of agriculture for instance department of animal husbandry, department of agronomy, department of Agricultural Economics & Rural Sociology, department of Horticulture, department of crop protection, Department of Agricultural Engineering and Technology and Department of aquatic development.

The Faculty of Computing and ICT expresses in its motto that we are "The electronic hub for Peace and Development".

Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS)   was established as department of economics in the faculty of Business and Economics on Nov 4th, 1998, but due to growth and extension of the university; FEPS was inaugurated as a separate Faculty of Economic & Political Science on Oct 23rd, 2012.

The Faculty of Education is one of the six Faculties that are currently functional in the university. It was established in 1998 with the aim of producing qualified teachers and educationists who contribute to the postwar recovery of Somaliland educational system.

Amoud University has a dedicated team of work force comprising of several hardworking men and women of high academic qualifications and local and international good repute.

Amoud Foundation Sponsored a five day visit conducted by University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass) held at Amoud University involving SomaliREN(a group of universities in the Somali regions sharing a common academic vision) and civil Society groups.

The Freshman Department held a send off ceremony for its students this year in May 2015. Amoud University registered 1083 students as Freshmen with 760 out of the 1083 being male and 323 out of the 1083 being female representing 70.18% and 29.82% respectively in the Department during the 2014/2015 Academic Year.

The SUNARPA Team today toured main campus Amoud University where they met several deans of faculties and also assessed physical facilities and infrastructure in the campus premises.

On Thursday October 11th, 2018 Amoud University held academic committee meeting to discuss among other issues Classroom space at Adan Isak School; Supervision of Evening classes; Use of English language for communication in class; Curriculum Development; Amoud University Policies; New meeting day for the academic committee – Tuesday every week. After intensive follow-up, Amoud University received its official membership from the Federation of Universities of the Arab States.

On May 13th, 2018 Students Union of SIMAD University visited their counterparts at AMOUD University.

Prof. Ahmed A. Boqore, Vice President for Academic Affairs Amoud University and Prof. Saeed H. Habaneh the Dean, Amoud University School of Postgraduate Studies and Research (AUSPGSR), this morning launched the first session of the 2016/2017 Masters Thesis Defense which is taking place at Amoud University Hargeisa Campus Premises for five days beginning Friday July 14th, 2017.
