
On Tuesday, October 4th, 2022, Amoud University senate held a meeting at senate meeting hall, main campus, Amoud University. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Hamud Barkhadle, Vice President, Academic Affairs, Amoud University. In attendance were Suleiman Hassan Ali, – Chief Registrar, AU, Mukhtar Abdi Omar, Director Academic Affairs, AU – Secretary, Edwin O. Okech, – Dean, Faculty of Computing & ICT, AU, Abdirizak Mahamud Osman, – Dean, Faculty of Economics & Political Science, AU, Abdirahman Ahmed Muhumed, – Dean, Faculty of Education, AU, Bishar Elmi Yey, – Dean, Faculty of Business and Management Science, AU, Tawakal Abdi Ali – Head of Examinations Department, AU, Harun Ismail Warsame, – Dean, Freshman Department, AU, Eng. Abdikarim Idiris Nour, – Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AU, Mohamed Abdi Osman – Dean, Faculty of Agriculture & Environment, AU, Mukhtar Ahmed Omar – Director, QAMS, AU and Dr. Mohamed Ali Nageeye, – Dean, Faculty of Sharia & Law, AU.
The main agenda of the meeting included communication from the chairman which included need for enhanced supervision of teaching and learning activities with emphasis on application of effective teaching methodology. Further discussions included report from the chief registrar on continuing students registration and new students enrolment per faculty. Prof. Ahmed A. Boqore also appeared in the meeting briefly to remind senators to produce budgets for their academic and administrative divisions and units to help with the university overall budget.
Deans of faculties were reminded about the forthcoming re-exams and special exams for freshman courses and for other academic units (faculties and schools) in addition to analysis of students performance reports for various classes. The schedule for bus transportation for afternoon classes were also reviewed and members informed of new time schedules for onward communication to students.
