The water well is going to be 150m-200m in depth, and will have one machine room and one guardian room. This project has been implemented courtesy of Amaanah Caamah for Kuwait through Bayt Alzakat for Kuwait and Implemented by ARC - African Relief Committee in partnership with Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Amoud University.

Amoud University was represented by Prof. Ahmed A. Robleh, Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, who presided over the launching ceremony. He was accompanied by Prof. Mohamed M. Jama "Derie", Vice President for Public Relations, Community Outreach and Overall in-Charge of Extra Curricular Affairs; Dr. Mohamed Muse Jibril, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mohamed Abdi Osman, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment; Mohamed Heban, Associate Dean in-charge of Research and Extension Services, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment together with Abdirahman Ahmed Muhumed, Dean, Faculty of Education and Eng. Abikarim Idiris Nour, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AU among several other Amoud University staff members.

The Faculty of Agriculture and Environment has been able to implement various projects over the last few years in collaboration with many development partners, with this being just one of them. The water well is well poised to provide much needed water supply to the university and its environs for various designated purposes. Mohamed Heban, Associate Dean in-charge of Research and Extension Services, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment has
been quite instrumental in the partnerships with the development partners in trying to come up with various projects designed to solve real life problems affecting not only the local farmers, but also the local community at large, which is one of the core functions of universities in the world today.
