In his opening speech the Vice President welcomed all deans back into the new academic year. Furthermore he congratulated all Amoud University deans and holders of central offices for their roles individually and collectively as a team that enabled them to achieve a very well run academic year September 2018/ July 2019 and which culminated into the most successful graduation ceremony ever witnessed at the university. He encouraged all members to build on that spirit in order to achieve even more results in the future. He thanked all those who were responsible for organization, planning, execution and coordination of the graduation ceremony held on Wednesday, September 11th, 2019 in particular for the outstanding contributions.
After the opening speech, the Vice President announced that according to the academic calendar the new academic year 2019/2020 was scheduled for opening on Monday, September 16th, 2019. The Deans of Faculties are expected therefore to open their doors for enrollment of new students for Sophomore Classes on this date and registration for Sophomore classes would continue until official closing, four (4) weeks after the opening date, which will be Monday, October 14th, 2019 as per the university academic calendar. Other continuing classes including Junior Academic Year students and Senior Academic Year students who are scheduled to resume classes would also be expected to start streaming in so as to access their class timetables and semester schedules. Teaching and learning, he announced, would officially commence on Saturday, September 21st, 2019 and go on until Wednesday, January 15th, 2020 when final examinations would be expected to commence for the first semester September 2019/ January 2020.
He further wished all deans and holders of central offices all the best in their endeavours in trying to make Amoud University the Most Prestigious University for the coming Academic year.
