The Junior Bachelor of Telecommunications Engineering and Computer Networking students from Amoud University were received at the Somtel premises by Engineer Osman Yaseen Jama, Radio Frequency Engineer, Somtel Company, Headquarters, Hargeisa. The students were led by Mr. Kennedy Mutai, a senior lecturer in the department of Telecommunications Engineering and Computer Networks.

The students learnt about Radio frequency, designing and optimizing BTS, 2G and 3G technology, Wi-Fi systems and transmission as part of the objectives of the academic field trip.

Amoud University introduced the undergraduate Bachelor of Telecommunications Engineering and Computer Networking degree course in the year 2019/ 2020 and this group of students are expected to proceed to their Senior Year during the Academic Year 2020/ 2021 and graduate in August 2022.

The educational tour was part of field work to fulfill academic and curriculum requirements of the telecommunications engineering and computer networking programme.
