Amoud University Attends 2026 AAUN Conference in South Africa, Celebrates Full Network Membership

GQEBERHA, SOUTH AFRICA — A high-level delegation from Amoud University, led by President Prof. Dr. Mohamed Muse Jibril and Director of International Partnerships and Projects Mr. Mohamed Heban Awale, is participating in the 2026 Australia-Africa Universities Network (AAUN) Conference. The prestigious event is currently being hosted by Nelson Mandela University in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), South Africa.

The conference brings together more than 170 delegates from across Africa and Australia. Attendees include university leaders, researchers, policymakers, and development partners, all gathered to strengthen academic collaboration, foster research partnerships, and drive innovation and sustainable development between the two continents.

A major highlight of this year’s conference for the Amoud University community will be the official announcement of the University’s full membership in the Australia-Africa Universities Network (AAUN). This induction marks a significant milestone in Amoud University’s internationalization strategy and underscores its ongoing commitment to expanding global academic networks and strategic partnerships.

Through this newly cemented membership, Amoud University looks forward to engaging deeply with fellow AAUN member institutions. The university aims to establish new collaborations and contribute to impactful, cross-continental initiatives focusing on research, innovation, capacity building, and sustainable development across Africa and Australia.
