Department of Freshman

Harun Ismail Warsame

Dean, Freshman Department

Message from the Dean

Freshman Department is where most of the basic knowledge and skills are taught to all students, regardless of their major, through our general education program. In the Freshman Department, our goal is to prepare students for a dynamic future. The Freshman Department is engaged and dynamic in progress education as a qualified practice and in the field of academic enquiry through excellence in teaching, and community service that promotes freedom, democracy, equality and human dignity. The Department takes seriously its responsibility to provide its students with the tools for life. We try to provide the creative basis for the understanding and achievement which the individual, the region and the nation must attain. It is our imagination and creativity that must challenge the other areas to excellence. This challenge is all the more important in a world that seeks to define, refine, reshape and fit us into those molds which it best understands and most easily manipulates even as we struggle against the limitations of these impositions.
