Master of Education in Educational Management and Administration
Preamble
Recent developments in the global arena and the increasing complexity of the educational system have made educational management and administration an absolute necessity. All over the world, the problems of population explosion, increasing enrollment vis-avis dwindling resources place demands on the system of education for solutions. Under such circumstances, the need for efficient and effective management and administration of education and educational institutions need not be overemphasized.
Programme Justification
The aim of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Research (SPGS&R) of Amoud University, and of Amoud University as a whole, is to design and develop high quality academic and professional programmers that respond to, and shape the societies needs standards. Increasing demand for educational places, enrollment explosion in all levels of education against ever dwindling resources put management and administration of the available scarce resources at the heart of educational provision. Further, education is the mother of all professions: it is the single feeder to all other sectors and professions. This makes its management and administration core to the effective and efficient functioning of all sectors.
The demand for education and education places will never decrease. Resources in, and resources for education will never be sufficient. The balance is for the available resources to be managed in such a manner that it can enable the attainment of the educational (and even national) goals in an efficient and effective manner, with the available resources. Education is the footstool for developing the people, the society and the economy. To this end, it is not only sufficient to have resources in schools, but it is equally important to have effective management and administration structures under which anchor the resources and the whole education systems. This programme has been developed to fulfill this purpose.
